• Keep Moving Integration (U.K. only): Get automated traffic incident alerts on your phone with the latest information on why you’re stuck in traffic

Create personalized routes with just a few clicks of a button! It’s as simple as selecting edit under your ‘Places’ screen and adding a custom route to any one of your saved locations. Give your preferred route a name and add new waypoints. Bam! See arrival times and road alerts for your new route in map view, marked with a yellow dot.

Across the country, the number of traffic accidents is known to rise on All Hallows Eve as excited children and adult partygoers often pay less attention to road safety—especially during the peak trick-or-treating hours between  6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

As you could guess, it’s the residential roads that see the biggest increase in congestion, so INRIX advises drivers avoiding the trick-or-treating to stick to major routes and highways. However, if you’re heading into residential areas behind the wheel, here are 13 Halloween driving safety tips:

It’s embarrassing that we still have to use the phrase ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) when speaking about our arrival times.   When I want the time of day, I don’t glance at the position of the sun in the sky and give an estimated time of day.  I glance at my phone and know within 60 seconds the actual time.  Likewise, in 2012, we should be able to expunge the acronym “ETA” out of our vocabularies, given that we now know real-time traffic, we can give the actual arrival time.

Today, we’re excited to announce the release of INRIX Traffic v4 for iOS.  With nearly 100 Million traffic reports in the palm of your hand, v4 is packed with innovative new features that will help you determine your best route and the best time to leave to avoid traffic.  We’ve also introduced personalized INRIX Arrival Times that tell you how long your trip will take based on real-time traffic conditions.

Now, let’s take a look at some of the new features in version 4.

The first new feature is our “Places” page.  This page allows you, in a single glance to answer four important questions given real time traffic.  i) What’s my fastest route to home/work?  ii) what’s my exact arrival time iii) what’s the exact arrival time of the second fastest route? and iv) what’s the best time for me to leave?

Compare current traffic conditions and travel times with forecasted conditions to determine the best time to leave.

In version 4, you’ll also find that you can also share your INRIX Arrival Time with loved ones or colleagues via text message or email with just two taps.

Easily send your INRIX Arrival Times to any contact with just two taps.

Now let’s take a look at the new, enhanced map that will show you traffic on your routes.  You will notice a few new things on this screen including new icons and an optimized layout.  While the traffic colors tell you about the traffic flow, the incident icons tell you more about the specific traffic impacting events, whether it is an accident, road work, police activity or major event, which is causing the delay.  Simply tap on an icon for more information.  You will also soon notice that every 180 seconds, we will automatically maximize the your personal route to your full phone screen, so now you can drive safer without having to continuously zoom in and out.

Check it out in the App Store, and remember to rate it again.   With the release of each update our reviews start from scratch, so your rating is very important.
